Former President Donald Trump's Organisation and its chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, has been charged with tax evasion from 2005 through 2021.
Associated Press reported that Weisselberg and the company avoided paying taxes by devising a scheme to pay the senior executives off-the-record using fringe benefits and other means.
According to The Wire service, Weisselberg allegedly avoided paying a total of around $900,000 to the federal government and the state and the city of New York.
But as per Trump, such charges are dividing the Country.
"The political Witch Hunt by the Radical Left Democrats, with New York now taking over the assignment, continues. It is dividing our Country like never before!"
Associated Press also reported that Weisselberg and the lawyers of the business have pleaded not guilty.
