Here we go again...
The new Delta variant that originated in India is proving to be a matter of concern for the Los Angeles health officials as they continue to strongly recommend people to wear a mask in indoor public settings.
According to The New York Times, the Delta variant has spread to at least 85 countries and is the cause of every one in five infections in the United States.
Although almost half of the residents in Los Angeles are fully vaccinated, and 60% have received their first dose, masks seem to be coming back to prominence. The mask mandate in California ended on June 15.
As per ABC News, the county's Department of Public Health said that they recommend people to wear a mask in indoor settings such as "grocery or retail stores; theaters and family entertainment centers, and workplaces when you don't know everyone's vaccination status,"
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti urged people to wear masks as a precaution even though they are "not mandatory." But what about those who are yet to be fully vaccinated?
Concerns around Covid infection continue unabated!
