Nike will reportedly fire unvaccinated members of staff over the coming days, having set a strict deadline for getting the COVID-19 vaccine for the 14,000 employees at the company's headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.
The deadline set was December 1 and now the company has reportedly started emailing those who have yet to comply.
"You failed to complete the verification process and our records show that you do not have an approved exemption," started Nike's email to unvaccinated staff, according to OregonLive.
"As a result, you are not in compliance with the policy and your employment is scheduled to be terminated on Saturday, January 15, 2022."
Currently, many members of staff aren't working out of the company's building, due to the spread of the Omicron variant. Staff were due to return to their desks on January 10, but this was pushed back again given the high number of cases.
