On Tuesday, President Donald J. Trump weighed in on the ongoing Joe Rogan saga in a new statement. Rogan has been the target of a sustained cancel culture campaign in which far left activists have called for his show to be removed from Spotify, citing “COVID-19 misinformation” concerns. Trump praised Rogan and his work but urged him to stop apologizing.
“Joe Rogan is an interesting and popular guy, but he’s got to stop apologizing to the Fake News and Radical Left maniacs and lunatics.” Trump said. “How many ways can you say you’re sorry? Joe, just go about what you do so well and don’t let them make you look weak and frightened. That’s not you and it never will be!”
Donald Trump Jr. also weighed in with a tweet. “Stand with Joe Rogan or it will only be a matter of time before they leftist elite come for you or your loved ones for not complying with their desires,” wrote Trump Jr.
Rogan has been the target of left-wing extremists since he contracted the virus himself and recovered in three days. Instead of using government-recommended treatments, Rogan used a regimen that included naturally occurring vitamins, ivermectin and monoclonal antibodies. The podcast host has talked about his experience numerous times while numerous figures have reached out to him publicly or privately in search of advice.
After outrage over Rogan’s “COVID misinformation” failed to gain traction, left-wing activists compiled a video montage of Rogan using the n-word in an attempt to put pressure on Spotify. In response, Rogan issued an apology video and signed off on removing several episodes. To date, the platform has removed over 113 episodes.
YouTube challenger Rumble recently offered Rogan $100 million to leave Spotify and join their platform. “We stand with you, your guests, and your legion of fans in desire for real conversation. So we’d like to offer you 100 million reasons to make the world a better place,” wrote Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski. “How about you bring your shows to Rumble, both old and new, with no censorship, for 100 million bucks over four years.”
The $100 million figure matches what Rogan was reportedly paid by Spotify to join the platform. On Monday, Spotify condemned Rogan’s “hurtful language” and pledged $100 million to “marginalized groups.”
